-------------When Lucas reached out to Michael, the little boy pulled away from him.
-------------Christopher leaned on Bobby for moral support, and poured his heart out to him about his deep desire to become a father. Charlie overheard their conversation.

Southfork......late morning
"Well, what's up, cousin?" John Ross asks cheerfully. "Happy 2016."
"Yeah, Happy New Year," Christopher says in a somewhat angry tone. Without saying another word to the couple, Christopher makes his way to his car and gets in. As John Ross and Krystina watch curiously,
"I wonder what's wrong with him," Krystina says.
"Who knows? I stopped tryin' to figure out my cousin's moods a long time ago. Come on. Let's get in with the baby."
"Well, welcome home, you two," Bobby says.
"Thank you," says Krystina.
Ann gets up and walks over to them. "Let me have this little guy," she says, taking the baby from John Ross. "I sure have missed him."
"It was wonderful," replies Krystina. "I even got to see a woman who worked for my family during my entire childhood. My mother invited her to join us for Christmas."
"That's terrific," says Ann. "And......how was Elena's visit with the baby?"
"Well that's good. Maybe she's learned from what she did, and from what her choices cost her."
"I hope so," John Ross says.
"What's the matter with Christopher?" Asks Krystina. "We met him outside as he was leaving. He seemed upset about something."
"Yeah, what did we miss while we were in Denver?" John Ross asks.
Bobby and Ann exchange looks of worry. "It's a long story," Bobby says. "Look why don't you go upstairs, get settled in, and then come back down and we'll tell you."
A ranch in Dallas.....
"Excuse me," Christopher says. "I was told Heather McCabe was working here."
A moment later, Heather comes out. "Yeah, Josh, who is......"
Heather stops short when she sees who her visitor is. "Christopher. What on earth are you doin' here?"
"I was hoping we could talk," Christopher says.
"Sure. Josh, I'm gonna take a little break," Heather says.
"Sure thing, Heather," Josh says.
"Thanks." Heather takes off her work gloves and places them on a barrel by the barn door. Then she and Christopher walk away as Josh watches them.
"How did you even know I worked here?" Heather asks Christopher as they walk away from the barn.
"I just did some checking," Christopher replies. "Look, Heather, I wanted to apologize for the way I acted when I found out Lucas was Michael's father."
"It did. Heather, you know how I've always felt about Michael. I think when I found out he's Lucas's son.......it hurt. I was feeling sorry for myself. For a long time, one of the things I've wanted most out of life is to be a father. I really enjoyed playing a role in Michael's life when you and I were seeing each other. And I admit, when you and Michael left with Bo, I was hurt. Deeply hurt. I was even feeling angry with myself."
"Angry with yourself?" Heather asks. "Why?"
"Because I let you go."
Heather smiles. "You did a very beautiful and noble thing, Christopher. There were many times I regretted my decision to go back to Bo, especially after he started poppin' pills again. I honestly thought we could make it work."
"I did. Or maybe by that time Bo was just as habit for me. An addiction like his pills were for him. I had loved Bo since high school, and it was a hard habit to break. When he was injured after that fire at Southfork, he looked so helpless layin' there in that hospital. Like a little boy. He couldn't work, or do anything. About the only thing that kept him goin' was Michael."
"So you went back to Bo out of pity?"
"Not exactly. I did love him. But, whatever love I had for Bo, he killed it when he went back to poppin' pills. About the only redeemable quality he had left was his love for Michael. That little boy was the light of Bo's life, and I took that away from him. He made me so angry that I just blurted out the truth about Lucas and about Michael's paternity. He accused me of lyin', and I told him that Michael was conceived one of those times he was away on the rodeo circuit. He hated me after that. Told me he never wanted to see me or Michael ever again."
"Bo actually blamed Michael?" Christopher asks.
"In his befuddled mind, yes."
"I'm sorry. Heather, why'd you come back to Dallas?"
Heather stops walking and turns to him. "You want the truth?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Alright, here's the truth. My confession. I was hopin' I'd eventually run into you. Christopher, when I saw that ad for servers to work the Oil Baron's Ball, I didn't take that job because I wanted to. Sure, I needed the money, but I already had THIS job here lined up. I took the job because I knew you and your family would probably be at the ball. Then I saw you with Charlie, and I realized you had moved on. And then, on top of that, I saw Lucas with you and he told me you were his brother. I was completely floored by that, so I couldn't tell you the truth about why I had come back."
"Heather, I'm sorry," Christopher says. "I don't know what the future holds. I'm not even sure about my own feelings."
Your feelings for me?" Heather asks. "Or for Charlie?"
Christopher hesitates a moment before answering. "For both of you."
Heather sighs, then turns and starts to walk back toward the barn. She stops, and after a brief pause, turns
Gold's Gym, Dallas.....
Meanwhile, Tripp is working out at Gold's Gym in Dallas. As he engages in his daily workout routine, Austin Wentworth walks into the gym. He shows his I.D. and membership card to the young woman at the desk, then walks into the gym area.
"Excuse me," Austin says. "Aren't you Tripp McKay? Pamela Barnes's husband?"
"Yeah, that's right," Tripp says, continuing his workout.
"We haven't met, but I'm Austin Wentworth. I'm your wife's cousin."
Tripp stops his workout and looks at Austin. "Yeah. I know who you are," he says, wiping his face with a towel.
"Listen, if you have a moment, McKay, maybe we could talk."
"Talk?" Tripp asks. "What could we possibly have to talk about?"
"Our mutual interests," replies Austin.
"Mutual interests? Since when do I have any mutual interests with a member of the Wentworth family?"
"Since we both hate the Ewings and wanna see them brought down. Maybe it would be in our mutual best interests to team up to accomplish that."
Austin smiles. "McKay, we don't have to like each other. We don't even have to trust each other. But, the Barnes and the Wentworths are two branches of the same family, after all, and we DO have a common enemy that we both wanna see destroyed. I think we could bring the Ewings to their knees if we join forces and do it together. We both benefit." Austin walks closer to Tripp. "From what I understand, McKay, you first came to Dallas to avenge the death of your twin brother, Hunter, who would still be alive if it hadn't been for the Ewings. And yet, the Ewings are not only still walking around, but they even managed to get their old company back. You can't tell me that doesn't bother you. That it doesn't drive you crazy. You can't tell me for one second that you don't still want your brother's death avenged."
"McKay, I already told you. Together, our families would make one hell of a team to go up against the Ewings."
"And then what?" Tripp asks. "What happens after we join forces with you and destroy the Ewings? You and your mother turn around and come after Cliff and his family?"
"What reason would we have for doing that?" Austin asks.
"From everything I've heard about her, Katherine Wentworth doesn't need a reason." Tripp starts to walk away from him.
"You'd be a fool to refuse my offer, McKay," Austin says. "My mother and I can prove very useful allies in helping you avenge Hunter's death. As I said, we don't have to like or trust each other........but you certainly don't want the Wentworths as enemies."
Tripp turns back to Austin, moves closer to him and looks him in the eye. "You listen to me, you little pipsqueak," says an angry Tripp, his face just inches away from Austin's. "Don't you EVER mention my brother's name again. And don't you EVER threaten me again. Because trust me........I'm not an enemy that YOU wanna have." Tripp brushes past Austin and walks out.
Austin watches Tripp as Tripp leaves the gym, then he smiles, having enjoyed getting under his cousin-in-law's skin.
Southfork.......late afternoon
"Dan, I appreciate all your help today," Bobby says to the hand. "Now, take the rest of the day off and maybe go into town tonight. Have some fun."
"No problem, Mr. Ewing, and thank ya," Dan says.
"Alright, I'll see you later."
As Dan rides off toward one of the other stables, Bobby walks his horse over near where Lucas is.
"Yeah, everything's just great," Lucas replies, his tone unconvincing.
"Have you spoken to Heather in the last few days?"
"I'm sorry, son," Bobby says. "I do know how ya feel."
"Yeah, you do. Thanks to me. I suppose what I'm going through right now with Michael is some kind of payback for how I treated you when I found out you were my father."
"Lucas, this isn't some kind of payback. Michael is a very young child who's just had his whole world pulled out from under him. He's too young to fully understand what's goin' on here. All that kid knows is that the man he's always known as his daddy really isn't his daddy, but it's another man he doesn't even know. Just give him time, son. The last thing you need to do right now is push it with Michael or with Heather. And I think in time, once Michael gets use to the idea, he'll wanna see you."
"I sure hope you're right," Lucas says. "When I first saw that little boy on Christmas Eve, I knew. I took one look into his face and I KNEW he was my son. All I wanted to do was to reach out to him. But when I tried, when I went over to Heather's place on Christmas Day and Michael pulled away from me and didn't even want my Christmas gift........."
"Felt like a knife in your very soul, didn't it?" Bobby asks.
Lucas looks at him. "Yeah. Exactly, it did. I just felt like dying."
"No. I haven't. I've wanted to so many times over the last few days, but, I just couldn't find the words."
"Well, I think you'd better do it, and soon, before she finds out some other way. As we know very well from past history, secrets like that ALWAYS have a way of comin' out, especially at Southfork."
Lucas looks at his father and nods, knowing Bobby is right. Bobby smiles at his son, then slowly trots off on his horse, leaving Lucas to think about what he had said. Lucas knows he must find a way to tell Emma that he is the father of Heather's little boy, but he dreads how she will react to such news.
The Wentworth Mansion......night
"Well, I was beginning to wonder when you were coming home," Katherine says.
"Sorry I'm so late, Mom. I spent all afternoon at the gym, and then I drove around for a while. And you'll never guess who I ran into at Gold's Gym."
"Who?"
"Tripp McKay. The husband of your niece, Pamela."
"I approached young Mr. McKay with a proposition."
"What sort of proposition?"
"That we team up to destroy our mutual enemies......meaning the Ewings."
"Team up?" Katherine asks, a tone of displeasure in her voice. "By teaming up.......I assume you mean with Cliff Barnes."
"Sure, why not?" Austin asks. "After all, Cliff Barnes and his daughter and her husband hate the Ewings just as much as we do, if not more. And we BOTH wanna see that family brought to its knees."
"While that much may be true, I will NEVER team up with Cliff Barnes on ANYTHING, and I can't believe you would even think that I would."
"Mom, Cliff is your brother, after all."
"He's my HALF-brother, Austin, and only by an accident of birth when my mother was married to that drunken father of Cliff's, Digger Barnes. We don't need the Barnes clan to help us destroy the Ewings. I'm flying to California tomorrow to see Richard Channing."
"Richard Channing? Mom, why go to all that trouble when we have potential allies right here in Dallas who can help us bring down the Ewings?"
Katherine turns and looks at her son. "Austin, my love, you have come a long way in the last couple of years, and I've come to rely on you very much. I even trusted you enough to put you in charge of Wentworrth Industries. So don't start disappointing me now by getting overzealous and going behind my back."
"I haven't gone behind your back, Mom," Austin says. "I simply ran into Tripp McKay at the gym."
"Good. As I said, we don't need them. We will destroy the Ewings without any help from Cliff Barnes, and then, after the Ewings are taken care of, I plan to turn my attention on my dear half-brother and destroy him for taking my father's company." Katherine walks to the stairs and then turns back to her son. "Austin," she says. "You've done very well recently, especially in getting that witch Judith Ryland out of our hair. But where the Ewings and the Barnes are concerned.........please remember to let ME do the planning." Katherine turns and heads up the stairs, leaving an angry Austin standing alone in the living
Southfork.....the next day
"Oh, hey," Christopher says. "Ummm, Krystina, listen, I'm sorry about yesterday."
"Yesterday?"
"It's okay, Christopher. Bobby and Ann told us what's been going on."
"They told you about Heather and Michael?" Christopher asks.
"Yeah, they did. I'm sure that must have come as a real shock to you."
"Definitely."
"I'm sorry. So, where does that leave things between you and Charlie?" Krystina asks.
"To be perfectly honest, Krystina, I have no idea. Charlie and I were happy. Happy and in love, and then Heather shows up again and drops this bombshell that Lucas is Michael's father, and everything falls apart. My feelings are so confused right now, and Charlie saw that, so she pushed me away."
Christopher sighs. "Heather and I ended things very quickly. There was a lot of unfinished business, and unresolved feelings between us. It wasn't exactly a break up in the usual sense of the word. Her ex-husband Bo had been injured."
"Yeah, I know, in the fire here at Southfork."
"That's right. Bo needed treatment for his injury, which he could only receive in Israel. I arranged for him to have the surgeries that he needed. When I saw the three of them together.......Heather, Bo, and Michael.......when I saw them as a family when Bo was in the hospital, I knew what I had to do."
"And that was let Heather go," Krystina says.
"Yeah."
"Christopher that's an incredibly noble and selfless thing to do."
"Oh yeah, that's me. Noble and selfless to a fault," Christopher says, standing to his feet.
"You say it like it's a bad thing."
"Well, for me, so far it hasn't worked out so well in my favor."
"Christopher, you're a wonderful man," says Krystina. "Next to John Ross and my father, you're about the finest man I've ever known. I know that, right now, it doesn't feel like your luck will ever change, but it will. Somewhere out there is a wonderful woman for you. And who knows? Maybe that's Charlie, maybe it's Heather. But whoever it is, Christopher, you deserve happiness."
"Christopher and I were just having a little chat," replies Krystina.
"So I see," John Ross says. "Do I have any reason to be jealous?"
"Of course not," replies Krystina.
"Ready to go, darlin'?"
"Yeah, all set. Hey Christopher, John Ross and I are going into town for lunch. Would you care to join us?" Krystina asks to John Ross's obvious displeasure.
Christopher looks at the couple. "No, thanks. I think I'm gonna go riding this afternoon."
"Well, see ya later," John Ross says. He grabs Krystina by the arm and the two walk out of the den. In the foyer, John Ross turns to his wife. "Darlin', what the hell was that about?"
"What? Our conversation?"
"No, you invitin' my cousin out to lunch with us."
"John Ross, I feel bad for him. Christopher's going through a rough time right now, and he needs his family. I can't believe you're acting this way. Are you really jealous of me and your cousin?"
"Should I be?"
"Of course not, that's ridiculous," Krystina says, losing patience with him.
"Look, Krystina, I love you," John Ross says. "I love you, and I trust you."
"But you don't trust Christopher?"
"No, I don't."
"John Ross, you're being really foolish right now. Your cousin is a good man, and he's my friend. Now, I'm sorry that you have a problem with that, but it's not gonna change. If you really trust me, then my being friends with Christopher shouldn't bother you. Now come on. Let's go to lunch." Krystina turns and walks away from him. After a moment's pauses, John Ross follows.
The Channing Mansion.....Tuscany Valley, California
"Yes, may I help you?" Agnes asks.
"Yes, I'm here to see Richard Channing," Katherine says,.
"May I ask who's calling?"
"Katherine Wentworth. I believe Mr. Channing is expecting me."
In the living room just off the foyer, Richard hears Katherine's voice and walks into the foyer. "It's alright, Agnes. Miss Wentworth, please come in."
"Thank you," Katherine says, walking into the house.
"Would you like anything?" Richard asks. "A drink, perhaps?"
"A drink would be nice."
"What'll you have?"
"Scotch," Katherine replies.
"Then step in here."
As Agnes returns to her duties in the kitchen, Katherine follows Richard into the living room, where he goes to the bar, pours two glasses of scotch and hands one to Katherine. "I must say, from your voice on the phone, Miss Wentworth, you did sound lovely, but I never expected anyone quite so beautiful."
"Alright........Katherine. And you call me Richard. Now then, what can I do for you? I understood you to say on the phone that you wanted to discuss the Ewing family?"
"Yes. One thing we have in common, Richard, is our mutual dislike for the Ewings."
"Yes, well, I know my reasons for hating the Ewing family, but what are your reasons?"
Katherine smiles. "Let's just say the Ewings cost me everything, and I have been waiting many years to exact my revenge. I thought I had done so last year when I manage to take back my father's company which the Ewings had stolen. But, as luck would have it, Bobby and Sue Ellen somehow came out on top and got their precious Ewing Oil back."
"But I understood the company the Ewings were running before they reacquired Ewing Oil was Barnes Global, Cliff Barnes's company."
"And Barnes Global was once Wentworth Industries, a company my father started and ran for many years."
As Richard is about to say something, he is interrupted by the ringing of his cell phone. He picks the phone up from his coffee table, and looks at the caller I.D. "Excuse me, Miss.......Katherine......I have to take this."
"Certainly," Katherine says with a smile as Richard walks out of the room to take the call. After he leaves, she looks around the elegantly furnished living room, then looks at the various family photos adorning the mantle and the three tables around the room.
After a few minutes, Richard returns. "Well, I'm sorry for that interruption, Miss Wentworth."
"Oh, that's quite alright. And I told you to call me Katherine."
The smile disappears from Katherine's face. "I don't understand."
"That phone call was from my private investigator."
"And, from your change in demeanor, I take it that call was about me."
"Yes, yes it was. I don't do business with people without having them checked out first, and my investigator uncovered quite a backstory on you, Miss Wentworth. Why didn't you tell me that Cliff Barnes is your brother?"
"Cliff is my HALF-brother, Mr. Channing."
"Let me see now," Richard says. "You were born in Houston, Texas in 1960, to Herbert and Rebecca Wentworth. You majored in journalism in college, lived in New York in the early 1980s before moving to Dallas to be near your mother and siblings. Your sister Pamela was married to Bobby Ewing, who you, Miss Wentworth, were arrested for shooting in 1984. After you were released on bail, you skipped town and went into hiding until the governor of Texas pardoned you last year. You have one son, Austin, age 22. Did I miss anything, or does that just about cover it?"
"I think you've covered everything," Katherine says.
"So what is it you're really doing here, Miss Wentworth?"
"Exactly what I told you earlier, Mr. Channing. You and I have something in common. We both hate the Ewings and want to see them brought down. I think that together, we can accomplish that."
"And just why would I wanna get involved with someone with your..........past?" Richard asks.
Katherine smiles. "I'd think you'd be the last person to let my past indiscretions stand in the way of our doing business together. After all, if memory serves me correctly, you spent some time in prison yourself. 1989, wasn't it?"
"So you had me checked out as well, I see," Richard says.
"Of course. I haven't gotten as far in life as this without taking every precaution."
"You know, Miss Wentworth, despite my reservations and your rather........checkered past.........I like you. Perhaps we could benefit from joining forces against the Ewings."
"Good," Katherine says with a smile.
"Why don't we toast to our future victory over a mutual enemy?" Richard asks, taking Katherine's glass from her. He pours two more glasses of scotch and hands Katherine hers back. "To victory," he says, raising his glass in a toast.
"To victory, to new friends, and to the downfall of the high and mighty Ewings," Katherine says as she and Richard toast.
Ewing Oil....the next morning
John Ross is showing Justin his new office at Ewing Oil the next morning, the office which will serve as headquarters for the J.R. Ewing Foundation. "Now, let me show you how the telephone here works," John Ross says as Justin takes a seat behind his new desk. Justin smiles. "John Ross, I'm not stupid. I know how a telephone works." "This kind is an OFFICE telephone. It's a lot different from what you're use to. If you get a call, these numbers will light up, and that tells you what line your call is on. Just pick up the receiver, and press the lit up button." "Sounds easy enough to me," Justin says. "Need any help, just ask one of the secretaries," John Ross says as Bobby comes to the open office door. |
"Just fine, Uncle Bobby," Justin says. "John Ross was just gettin' me settled in here and showin' me the ropes."
Bobby smiles. "Good. Justin, if ya need any help, with anything, don't hesitate to ask."
"Thanks, Uncle Bobby," Justin says. "I'm pretty sure I'll have to take ya up on that."
"Anytime," Bobby says. "Well, I'll see you both later." Bobby smiles at his nephews, then walks out of the office.
As Bobby is about to go into his own office, Sue Ellen comes out of hers carrying a folder and approaches him. "Bobby, could I have a word?" She asks.
"Well, sure, Sue Ellen, come on into my office." Sue Ellen follows Bobby into his office and he closes the door. "What's up?" He asks.
Sue Ellen opens the folder she holds in her hand and shows it to him. "I just need you to take a look at these leases, then sign them."
"Oh, sure," Bobby says, taking the folder from her.
"Well, she's fine now. I think she was just feelin' a little down with all the talk and questions about her family. I'm sure she'd love a visit from you since we didn't get to see you on New Years. Why don't you drive out to the ranch and see her later?"
"Alright, I will."
"Well, these leases look good to me," Bobby says. "By the way, Sue Ellen, I wanted to let you know that Catlin Ewing phoned this morning and he wanted to change our meeting from a week from Friday to this coming up Friday, if that's okay with you."
"Catlin Ewing," Sue Ellen says with a smile. "This Friday? Why, yes, that will be just fine."
"I take it moving our meeting with cousin Catlin up is pleasing to you?"
"I didn't say a word."
"No, you didn't, but it's written all over your face how much you're looking forward to seeing our new found cousin again."
"Well, I admit he IS a very attractive man," Sue Ellen says as Bobby's intercom buzzes.
"Hold on," Bobby says, walking to his desk. He presses the button on the intercom. "Yes, Janice?"
"Mr. Ewing, there's a Marilee Stone here to see you," Janice says. "She says she's an old friend."
A look of shock comes over Bobby's face. "Marilee Stone. Good Lord. Yes, Janice, please, send Mrs. Stone in."
"Yes sir."
"Bobby, did I hear right?" Sue Ellen asks. "Marilee STONE?"
"Yes. I haven't heard from or thought about her in years."
"Neither have I," Sue Ellen says as the office door opens and Marilee Stone walks in.
"Well, Bobby Ewing," Marilee says smiling.
"Marilee, I can't believe it," Bobby says, walking over to her. "You look great, haven't changed at all."
"Hello, Marilee," Sue Ellen says.
"Oh my heavens," Marilee says. "Sue Ellen, hello. How long has it been? Twenty-five years at least?"
"More like twenty-seven," Sue Ellen says.
"Well you still look the same as always. I see the years have been very kind to you."
"Marilee, would you like a drink?" Bobby asks.
"I would love one."
"Great, what'll ya have?"
"Bourbon," Marilee replies.
"Bourbon it is," Bobby says, walking to the bar to pour the drink. "So, Marilee, what brings you back to Dallas after all these years? Last I heard you were livin' the high life on the French Riviera."
"Yes, I certainly have been," Marilee says as Bobby hands her the drink. "As for what brings me back home to Dallas, the answer is......my son, Bradley."
"Yes, we saw Bradley at the Oil Baron's Ball last month," Sue Ellen says.
"Word has it he's resurrected Stone-Hurst Oil," says Bobby.
"Yes, and that's why I'm here. I'm worried."
"Worried?" Sue Ellen asks.
"Yes. As you both know, both of my sons lived away at boarding school during most of their childhood and adolescence. Of the two boys, Bradley was the one who always had a head for business. He often talked of returning to Dallas and going into the oil business. But, that's not all he talked about."
"What do you mean, Marilee?" Bobby asks.
"Well, Bobby, I'm afraid that my son has a grudge against your family. A grudge he's carried for almost his whole life."
"Why do you think, Bobby?" Marilee asks. "Because of his father. After all, Seth was driven to commit suicide after he lost everything, thanks to J.R. swindling him and the other cartel members in that crooked Asian oil lease deal."
"But that was so long ago," says Sue Ellen.
"Yes, I know," Marilee says. "But it doesn't matter to Bradley. My son feels cheated because he never got to know his father."
"Marilee, why are you here telling us all this?" Bobby asks.
"Because I have a feeling that, now that he's running his own company, my son might attempt to cause a few problems for Ewing Oil."
"Marilee, Ewing Oil is a HUGE company, with over a billion dollars worth of assets," says Bobby. "I doubt your son and his much smaller company could cause us much grief."
"I wouldn't be too sure of that, Bobby. But I'm not here to warn you for your sake. I'm here for my son's sake. Because I know how the Ewings operate, and I don't wanna see my son fall victim to the same fate as so many others who have dared to cross the Ewings over the years."
"So exactly what ARE you saying, Marilee?" Sue Ellen asks.
"If Bradley does become a bit of a thorn in Ewing Oil's side, I want you to go easy on him. I don't want my son's life ruined for daring to stand up to the Ewings and, in his mind, avenge his father's death. So, I just want some assurance that you'll leave him alone."
"Marilee, I can't offer any such assurance," Bobby says. "Look, I understand where you're comin' from. I can even understand, to an extent, your son's anger over his father's death, but that was over 35 years ago. J.R. is dead and gone and the rest of us had absolutely NOTHING to do with cheating Seth. But if your boy comes at me or my family over some old score from decades ago, or if he makes himself an enemy of us, then we'll deal with that accordingly."
Marilee looks at him for a moment. "I see. Well, I just thought that I would see if I couldn't head off trouble before it happened, for the sake of old friendships, but I see I'm just wasting my time here."
"I'm afraid you are," Bobby says.
"Allright, then," says Marilee. "At least I tried. But be warned........if the Ewings do anything to hurt my son, you'll have me to deal with." Marilee walks to the door, opens it, then turns back to them. "And......it was very nice to see you both again after all these years." Marilee flashes a smile, then walks out.
"Can you believe that?" Bobby asks after Marilee is gone.
"Same old Marilee as always. That woman has some nerve," Sue Ellen says. "How dare she come here and ask us to take it easy on her son if he comes after us to avenge J.R.'s role in his father's death more than 35 years ago."
"Marilee never gave a DAMN about her boys before. As soon as they were old enough, she shipped them off to a boarding school in the east and basically ignored them, never taking an active part in their lives after that, and now, after all these years, she comes here playing the role of loving and protective mother."
"Sue Ellen, it's alright, just calm down," says Bobby. "Bradley Stone is small potatoes, and he's no threat to us. Neither is Marilee."
"I know. But that woman could ALWAYS get under my skin."
Southfork....
"Yes, may I help you?" Lucy asks.
"How do, ma'am," Calvin says. "I was wonderin'.......this is the Ewing residence, itn't it?"
"Yes it is."
"Does Amanda Ewing live here? Amanda Shepherd Ewing?"
"No, she doesn't. She use to live here, but now she lives a couple miles from here."
"Oh, well now, how 'bout that. Oh, umm, where are my manners. I'm Cal Shepherd and this is my boy, Jeremy Shepherd."
"Shepherd?" Lucy asks. "Are you relatives of Amanda?"
"Why, yes we are, ma'am. I'm Amanda's daddy, and I've come to check up on my baby girl."
Lucy smiles.
Justin and Amanda's home....
"Hey, darlin', it's me," Justin says on the other end of the line.
"Hey, sweetheart," Amanda says. "How's your first day working at your new job?"
"It's okay, kinda borin' right now. I'll be glad when Jimmy comes by, then I'll at least have somebody to talk to. Everybody else is busy with meetin's and Ewing Oil affairs."
"Well, ya know you could help, if you'd come into town and have lunch with me."
"I'd love to. ANYTHING to get me away from this house cleaning for a while. I'll be there in about forty-five minutes. Just let me change and fix my hair. I love you. Bye." Amanda puts down the phone and starts up the stairs, but again, the phone rings. She sighs deeply, walks over and picks the phone up from the coffee table. She looks at the caller I.D. and sees that it's someone from Southfork calling. She quickly answers on the third ring. "Hello?"
Southfork.....
Justin and Amanda's home....

"You're very welcome, Mr. Shepherd. I know Amanda's gonna be blown away when she sees you both here."
"Oh yes, I'm sure she will," Calvin says, still smiling as his son Jeremy looks around the elegant living room in awe.
An office in downtown Dallas....
"Miss Wentworth," the receptionist says with a smile.
"Hello, Brenda. Is he in?"
Brenda smiles. "Yes, and I'm sure he'll be happy to see you. I'll let him know you're here." Brenda picks up her phone and buzzes her boss's intercom. "Sir, Miss Wentworth is here to see you. Yes, sir, I will." Brenda puts the phone down. "You can go on in, Miss Wentworth."
"Thank you, Brenda," Katherine says. She walks over to a door, pauses a second, then walks into the office, where a man is standing by a desk, his back to the door. Katherine walks up behind the man and puts her hands on his back. "Darling," she says.
Bradley Stone turns to face her. He smiles, then kisses her. "How'd it go in California?"
"Wonderful," replies Katherine. "Richard Channing was a little hesitant at first, but then he agreed to join forces with us. He hates the Ewings every bit as much as we do."
"Which is?" Katherine asks.
"Well, Katherine, my dear, you know that old saying.......the sins of the fathers shall be visited upon their sons? Since J.R. is no more, my revenge is gonna be directed at his sons. I'm gonna destroy John Ross and his brother, Justin. And, while I'm at it........maybe their sister, Jillian Cryder, too."
Katherine smiles as she puts her arms around Bradley. "You are a very sexy man when you're talking about revenge......especially revenge on the Ewings."
Bradley looks deep into Katherine's eyes for a moment, then the two begin kissing passionately.
Southfork....
"Lucy," she says.
"Oh, Amanda, hi," says a smiling Lucy. "I'm glad you came."
"Well, you said it was important. What was it you wanted to talk to me about?"
"I have a surprise for you."
"Okay......what's the surprise? Lucy, I really do have to meet Justin at Ewing Oil, so, if you could just tell me......"
"Well, here's part of your surprise," Lucy says, pointing to the young man standing in the living room.
Amanda looks at the young man curiously. "Ummm, hello," she says, confused.
"Excuse me, but, do I know you?" Amanda asks.
"Don't remember me? I aint surprised. We hadn't seen one another since we was little kids."
"Who are you?" Amanda asks.
Before Jeremy can answer, Calvin Shepherd comes down the hall and walks back into the living room. "Miss Lucy, I wanna thank you for the use of your bathroom," Calvin says as he enters the living room. "That was......" He stops short when he sees Amanda standing in front of him. "Oh, my."
"Well Amanda?" Says Lucy, still smiling. "Here's the other part of your surprise."
The smile disappears from Amanda's face when she sees her long lost father, and her mouth falls open in shock. "Oh my God, it can't be."
Amanda remains silent as she continues to stare at her father in disbelief.
Calvin smiles as he looks at Jeremy. "Look at her, son. She's so happy to see us she's speechless. Sure is good to see you, baby girl."
"Daddy?" Amanda asks. "Daddy, what are you doing here?"
"Well, me and your brother came to see you, baby. To see how you's gettin' along, and from the looks of thangs, you're gettin' along just fine."
